got two thousand dollars and a bullseye between my eyes

NP: mp3s from the Long Winters' website. This is good stuff, I'm gonna have to grab one or both of their albums now.

Nixed the bagels yesterday and went to the cafe on Ivanhoe where Erin's cousin works. Had a spinach salad and big bottle of mineral water, enjoyed the coolness of the brick building and the door open to a large potted plant and courtyard.

Headed down to Cape G around 12.30, got down around 2 or so and visited with my sister and her boyfriend James for a while. He has a pug puppy that was absolutely wired. So cute for a smashed-face breed that sounds like it has asthma. Met up with Ryan H after taking like half an hour to get across town. First I got stuck in a residential area behind an old guy driving a taxi van. Then it was hitting every light on Kingshighway. Ugh. Anyway, met up with Ryan and headed out to frolf. It was my first frolf in at least a year and a half, but the naturally perfect course that is the university campus was still great. Drove across the new Mississippi River bridge for the first time -- very neat structure, with the added bonus of not having to use the scary, rickety death trap that the old one was. Headed back to Ryan's place and played some Bond on the Gamecube & then went to grab a bite to eat. A couple of pints of Foster's and a catfish sandwich at Port Cape -- brilliant. Wandered around downtown for a few minutes, ran into an old professor who didn't remember me and barely remembered Ryan, and went down to the river for a minute. Headed home in an even better frame of mind than I was in at lunchtime.

I gave up and put the AC on when I got home last night. No point in spending a miserable night trying to sleep in still, warm air. It feels wrong to have the air on in April, but it's not like it's a permanent thing. Just for a day or so.

No idea what's in store for today, but it doesn't really matter. Just glad to be able to share a common day off with Erin, maybe we'll grab a bite and hit Vintage Vinyl or something. Either way, until then I'm hiding out from the faux-summer. I'm still waiting for that first big thunderstorm of the season.
