this is the fierce last stand of all I am

NP: The Smiths - "Meat Is Murder"

By far my least favorite Smiths album, even over the overproduced weirdness of "Strangeways...", but there's still five great songs on. Well, four, really, but the US version also has How Soon Is Now tacked on for good measure, so yeah.

I hauled my ass out of bed at 6 o'clock this morning after getting only about 5 fairly unsound hours of sleep. However, the early start is way of getting a full day of work in and still being able to leave early enough to spend the rest of the day with Erin, who has the day off but has to work both Saturday and Sunday.

Relationship rule #274: Remembering to allow your partner the opportunity to come home and blow off steam from a tough day at work, as well as remembering that your role is nothing more than to shut up and listen/absorb it, and offer bits of sympathy, not to criticize or do anything else. It's also hoping that your partner remembers to do the same next time you come home in a similar state. In any case, I really must work on always being that place that Erin can come back to and vent her stress. Did any of that make sense?

I feel so completely boring these days.
